Your Consultation and follow up
(Our Vulval Clinic is located at Nuffield Hospital, Taunton)
You will receive a 45 minute initial consultation with Miss Sinha, our Consultant Gynaecologist, where you can discuss your concerns and a full medical history will be taken.
An examination of the Vulva is often recommended and this will always be discussed with you first. If accepted by you, a chaperone will always be present.
Please note any additional tests (if needed) such as swabs or biopsies will entail a further cost and details of these will be made available to you at the time of booking.
A treatment regime will be recommended and prescription provided for you at the consultation. A letter will be sent to you within 5 days via email or post (depending on your preference). Results from any tests will be communicated to you in a timely fashion.
Follow up will be arranged at a 6 week interval, if new treatment has been commenced and if concerns, you will always be able to contact us in between appointments for a review or discussion.
If you are a patient with private, medical health insurance, please always ask your insurance company for preauthorisation before your visit, and always check with your insurer first to see if there are any exclusions to your policy and make sure your treatment is covered.
We accept the following private health insurance companies:
AETNA
ALLIANCE
AVIVA
AXA
BUPA
CIGNA
VITALITY
WPA
We are also happy to see Self Pay patients.
